What We Do

Greenstock develops products or projects in response to identified opportunities to serve specific customers or markets. The technology to produce a particular product or product line or to serve as the foundation for a specific project typically may be the outgrowth of basic research conducted and published but never utilized for this purpose. Incremental innovations in process technology (e.g. an increase in ethanol yield or protein or starch extraction and recovery efficiencies) are typically the result of ongoing development by private, government or academic research institutions or a process or equipment supplier. The company has developed unique processes applied to corn (patented), oats and grape processing residues. It is one of Greenstock's particular strengths that we are able to marry the appropriate technologies with the identified product or project opportunity, a result of our close ties and ability to access product markets, process and equipment expertise and the research community. This strength and the basic concepts and procedures employed in each project are the same for our advisory work and the activities carried out for our own account as a principal.

We carefully plan projects to ensure that they can attract the necessary capital to successfully develop and operate the business. We normally do not prepare "stand-alone" feasibility studies except as a first step in the development process, but rather plan and execute projects based on sound technology and the arrangement of "bankable" project contracts covering design and construction services, product off-take agreements, sound feedstock procurement protocols and appropriate arrangements for crucial utility and infrastructure support.

Greenstock often serves as an independent advisor to lenders and institutional equity investors in industries where we have a recognized expertise. These advisory services can be rendered both during the due diligence or development phases and/or during the ongoing commercial operation of the business, depending on the needs of the client.
