Greenstock personnel have performed pilot and commercial-scale fermentation trials on a number of starch and sugar crops as well as wastes generated by the food processing industry. We understand the selection of enzymes and the conditions under which fermentation is performed in order to maximize ethanol yield at the least cost. Feedstocks tested include most grains grown in North America (corn, grain sorghum [milo], wheat, barley and oats), molasses (cane and beet), tubers (potatoes and Jerusalem artichokes), elevator (corn) dust, and by-products or waste streams of the food processing industry (whey, candy, baked goods, potato processing streams).
